Watching Usher Live made my Holiday Perfect

Dear Diary,

I thought I have written the last post for the holiday. But yeah, something that happened last night changed it. So guess what, I went to Usher's concerttttt last night! Heee. It still felt surreal until now. And I dont know whether its because of either that was my first concert or because it was USHER?! Well, I think its a mixture of both :)

Okay now, let me tell you the behind the scenes story. I was not planning at all to watch Usher. Yeah Im a big fan of him but seeing the ticket prices, I was like, "Im so not going!" I dont have that much of money left to fork out. I told myself "Oh well, maybe nanti when Im rich he'll come again and do another concert or whatever". Haha yup. But then, it was the night before the concert and I was surfing the net (as usual, ehem) and macam terfikir untuk just google if ada orang nak jual the tickets cheaper than the original price. Yela, dalam ramai-ramai orang da tickets, bukan semua boleh pergi kan? Heh. So cuba lah try luck.

Then we saw ada advertisement kat mana tah, dia kata nak jual ticket yang RM348 tu at RM200 je! Qma and I was like "whatttt the!?" murah gilaaa. Haha. So qma la tolong negotiate dengan mama, (I dont have the money la, duhh and I dont like asking, ish T_T) and mama said "okay boleh". So kitorang pon call la, then dia kata "The tickets are bought already". Damn! Ok then nak sedapkan hati pergi la Axcess punya website, tengok seating map dia, turns out RM348 tu kena stand, so being the diva la kan, mana larat nak diri lama2. Dalah pendek. Haha. Hati sedap sikit la, tak la kecewa sangat. Then google lagi, jumpa advertisement dekat Mudah.com, ada orang nak jual voucher from TM yang boleh redeem 2 tickets for guess how much? RM 60 je! Haha we were like "Oh My God, yang ni pleaseee la adaaa!"

Then qma called the person and asked about the voucher, she said ada lagi and we can come to pick it up kat Shah Alam (She works at TM Shah Alam). She got the tickets from her friend and she cant go so she's selling it la. So yeaaah, we were like happyynyaa! 2 tickets for RM 60! How lucky can you get? :D Hee. The ticket's price was originally RM 98 each, so yeah we save dalam RM126! Everything happened so fast, seriously.

Esok, pukul 11 terus pergi Shah Alam dengan mama. Fetched the voucher, and kat situ tulis pulak yang we have to redeem the tickets before 5 pm. At first, we were planning to go at 5pm with Farah. So takut la nak pegi petang then dah tak boleh redeem kan. So off we went to Stadium Bukit Jalil dalam pukul 12 lebih and arrived there at 1 pm. Turns out, orang yang bawak ticket tu tak sampai lagi! Boleh takkkk?! It says dekat voucher tu from 10 am to 5 pm okayy. Ni pukul 1 pm tak sampai lagi apa cerita? Ee geram dah time tu dengan those TM people. Kesian gila kalau ada orang tunggu since 10 am! Nasib la dengar Stadium buat sound check and ada la Usher's songs so sejuk sikit hati -_- Diorang sampai pukul 1.30 at last and terus ambik tiket and balik.

At 5pm, Farah picked us up and we managed to go to McD's drive thru to grab some bites. Ate in the car while waiting for the rain to stop. (Yes, the rain was welcoming Usher) Then turun kereta and nampak line dah panjang jugak laa. Beratur in the rain for like 40 mins before entering the stadium.

This is Qma and me. At first.

This is me. After the rain went heavier.

The opening acts were Iz OIAM (Funny how people dont know him and went "Siapa niiii?" haha i dont know him either, cuz didnt watch much OIAM dulu.) Then it was Alif OIAM (Ha yang ni dah ramai kenal sikit la, hehe) and lastly it was Misz Nina. She sang her new song, not bad la I think. Tapi yela, everybody was waiting for Usher! Hee. Oh yea, to our surprise, the Queen also went to the concert! Like SERIOUSLYYY!? Dia pun a big fan of Usher? Haha

Then finally, the superstar came out and sang Caught Up as his first song! Woohoo! Memang orang tak berenti menjerit la. He sang all of MY favourite tunes of him; Yeah, My Boo, Burn, You Remind Me alongside OMG, Daddy's Home, I Need A Girl, Caught Up and other songs. His dance moves were like perfect! His known for that pun kan :)

He didn't talk much but he did mention that he was single and showed his bare hands as proof. Haha. He also commented on the signs that the fans made. One of it said "Marry Me" and he said, "Oh well, you know, that ain't work for me but I love you too. And you're mine!" Haha. Two lucky b*****s got his towel that he threw to the crowd. To me, my absolute favourite performance was Burn! :)

Kicked things off with Caught Up

Sadly, the concert wasn't long, only about 1 hour and 45 minutes jeee. But yes, it was pure fun and joy. I pinched my fat cheeks during the concert to make sure I wasn't dreaming of seeing Usher performing live baybeh! Im glad it wasn't a dream! :)

This is Farah and me. After the concert. Masih rasa surreal.

So yeah, it wasn't planned and that made it even moreeee wonderful!

Thanks to Mama for sponsoring the tickets (there's no way I'd go without her) and drove me to Shah Alam and Bukit Jalil for the tickets. Thanks to Farah for taking me there! Thanks to Qma sayang for teman-ing me.

(Note to readers and self : Be good to your parents and sisters and they will be good to you! I have proof!)

And to my other half; Tyqa, I was so sorry that you didn't get to go. It was a last minute decision and you still have those hellorientation to go through. (I told you it was hell!) But we did get something for you and I (somehow) brought back Usher for you! (In my camera la, video recorded especially for you to see he sang and danced) :)

Looking at my previous post, I already said that this holiday has been wonderful, but yes, this concert, this Usher Live In Malaysia 2010 Concert, made my holiday perfect. Trip to Tawau, an experience as the director for the challenging project, holidays at two different places, shopped till I dropped, eat, eat and eat, spending time with the besties including a sleepover, lazing around and to end things beautifully, I get to see Usher's concert!? How blessed can I get?
Thank you God, for everything

p/s : If you wanna watch some video clips of Usher performing yesterday, got to Farah's blog. She's the rajin one to upload!

Weekend full of girlfriends, back-to-school and butter cake :)

Dear Diary,

Ive been having such a wonderful holiday, went to two different trips outside the country, shop till I dropped, spending time with family, outing and sleepover with the babes, cendol and gossip session, eating fabulous foods, sharpening my cooking skills (ahem) and yeah lazing around of course :)

So last Friday I went to Jusco Cheras Selatan with the girls to watch Toy Story. The story was goood, this coming from a non-cartoon-fan so yeah, you can totally trust my judgement. :) Before that we went for lunch at Secret Recipe and did the food swapping. Haha best gila cuz we can taste each other's foods. I loved my Spaghetti Meatballs (I personally think its better than Pizza Hut's) and Afzan's lasagna was good too. Farah's fish and chips was generous, they gave two pieces of the fish fillets yang memang besar jugak la. Hani's Chicken-something was good, except for the rice. And yes, Afzan's iced chocolate with whipped cream was heavenly :) Surprisingly, we didn't bought anything. Seriously! Sorang pun tak beli apa-apa. Oh well, wait till dapat duit nanti :p Eh eh but not me, Im not gonna spend on clothes or handbags or shoes for this next couple of months (I wish) :) Thanks girls, for the wonderful time gossiping and all. You know I love you ;)

If I had to sum up Friendship in one word, it would be Comfort. ~Terri Guillemets

As you may know, my partner-in-crime Tyqa got herself into UPM in Bac of Human Resource Development. So last Saturday, we went to sent her off. I was kinda excited that she got herself into UPM, cuz that means Im gonna have one more best friend there :) She'll be staying at Second College, not that far from my college, kira walking distance lah. Yeay! Dia dapat room top floor, so yeah jenuh jugak lah angkat barang haritu, but then she didn't brought much pun, we learned based on my experience :) But I envy her room, so many storage shelfs! Bestnye! kemas pulak tu. And yeah, the view was to die for. Nampak KLCC and KL Tower lagi okay! Bilik I nampak atap parking and bukit yang tak berapa nak tinggi tu je -_-

If you see clearly, the first bulatan on the left tu KL Tower and the second one is KLCC. Yea the picture doesn't do much justice, cuz tak secantik bila nampak depan mata. So sapa2 nak tengok sila lah melawat Tyqa ye, boleh lawat saya sekali :)

Then last Sunday we went to Shah Alam to send Atuk back. She came here to see Tyqa before she went to UPM. Went to SACC and had tea at one cafe called The Teapot Deli. The butter cake was sooooooooooooooooooo gooood. Seriously, the best butter cake I've tasted so far. And its only RM 4.50, so worth it! They even heated up the cake before serving us, so that made it even more good. I was soo in love with it, that I savour each bite! Mum and Atuk had scones, they said that the scones was also good, better than Dome's in fact. Dome's scones was not that good and overpriced (according to Atuk). Im definitely coming back for more of their butter cakes!

Wanna try this on the next visit too!

The caption says it all

We also packed some beef lasagna for dinner, and it was also awesome!

Atuk brought home this fish pie, and I bet it tastes good too.

Two ladies eating scones

The happy girl

I truly recommend this cafe for those who wanna have their lunch (they also serve some food here) and of course, tea. If you go there, please eat those butter cake for me (tolong tapau pon amatlah dihargai) :)

So yeah, till Im writing again,

Singapore, Singapore, Singapore

Hi readers.. I know it has been ages but Kin has specifically told me to write about our trip to singapore..and i didn't really mind.. singapore was a blast!

So, we started the journey on Thursday morning..Everybody woke up late, so we were only on the road by 8.30 (We planned to start by 8). We drove to J.B, and left the car at our mom's cousin's house. We had lunch in J.B. He, then drove us to Larkin terminal, where we got on a bus to Singapore. We were really huffin and puffin coz we had to get off the bus twice to go through immigration, but it was all in fun.

the bus we took to singapore

at the place where we had lunch

In Singapore, we took a bus to the Kranji MRT station, where daddy's friend Uncle Zoi came to pick us up. We went to City Hall to buy some tourist tickets for the MRT and buses. It was straight to Bedok Villa after that, Uncle Zoi's house. Since it was the school holidays, his kids were stayin in J.B at a relative's house so it was just us, Uncle Zoi and his wife, Aunty Ayu, stayin at the house.

at Kranji station

He took us to dinner and we walked around Bedok that night.

where we had dinner most nights

while waitin for the bus

The next day, the real fun started. We went to Universal Studios Singapore on Sentosa Island. It was soo much fun since we were theme-park-deprived for a few years. The last one we went to was Six Flags New England in the U.S. As soon as we stepped into the park we started taking pictures. There was so many things to look at. Mom and Dad went to redeem some coupons. We each got $5 for a meal and $5 for retail. We started the journey in Holywoodland.

with the cast of Live Rock Musical

We were really excited and just started gaping at everything. After Holywoodland, it was New York city. Then we reached Sci-fi Land. That was where we went on our first ride. The accelerator. it was basically the cups ride that they have in Genting Highland but the cups were big yellow sci-fi spaceship thingies. Anyway, we all went on that ride.

After that we moved on to The Mummy Land. We went on the most scary ride there. It was a rollercoaster but it was indoors and it was very dark. It went forward and backwards and it would just suddenly stop and Imhotep would come out and scare us. He wasn't very nice looking too. All dead and green. Anyway, they took pictures of us on the rollercoaster and we looked at them after we got off. It was hilarious. We looked really stupid with our eyes closed and our mouths opened. Kin looked like she wanted to cry. We didnt buy it though. Since we got one similar one from Thorpe Park.

they didn't look very happy

After that, it was The Lost World. We went on a water ride there. They already warned us that we were gonna get soaked but we didn't really care. It was a hot day so we thought it was nice to get a bit wet. The adult ponchos were all sold out. We also had to wait 80 mins to get on the ride. Ayah was so sleepy and almost fell asleep when we were in line. There was also one guy who also kept pushing us from the back. He was also riding alone but he didn't understand when the attendants were calling for single riders. The idiot. He could have gotten on the ride a whole lot earlier. Instead he was just there making our lives miserable. In front of us, however was a dad with a son and a daughter. They were so cute. The dad wrapped up his children with ponchos and made sure that no parts of their clothes were going to be exposed to water. The daughter also had her own pink poncho. After a long wait, we got on the ride with another family riding on the same boat. It was really great. At the end there was a drop and we sure did scream. (Okay maybe i screamed)

After that it was our favorite part of the park, Far-Away Land. Everything there was cute. Our first stop was a restaurant was Goldilocks. They had delicious burgers.

We went on one of our favorite rides - Shrek 4D. It was really funny. It was actually a simulation. We sat in a theater and they put on a clip and there was special effects like when donkey sneezed there was a nozzle behind the seats in front of us that sprayed us with water. Ayah really liked that one.

We also went on a junior roller coaster in Far-Away Land. Well, they said it was a junior rollercoaster, but it was pretty fast. Kin said they tried to scam us into riding it, saying it was a junior rollercoaster. All I'm saying is, grandmas shouldn't be on that rollercoaster.

the junior coaster

Next stop, Madagascar. We didn't really went on anything there. if im not mistaken, there was only a carousel there. So, we just went into the gift shop and took some pics.

Oh, and the toilet signs were just sooo cute.

After Madagascar, it was back to Hollywood. So, we circled the park for about 2 times.

We waited for the next show of Live Rock Musical and we went for that. Ayah fell asleep in it. I didn't blame him. the day was hot, and the auditorium was soo comfortably cool.

Then, we went back to The Mummy place bcoz mom wanted to go on another ride there.

They stopped us right in front of this thing, and Kin screamed. haha.

Because all the rides were closing, we surrendered and went one last time into the gift shops and took our last pictures.

After taking the bus, we stopped somewhere and planned to meet up with Uncle Zoi because he wanted to take us to Mustaffa. Shopping!

After having so much fun shopping, Uncle Zoi took us sightseeing around Singapore. First, we went to IMM to go to Daiso and Qmar found a store selling her Korean stuff. We also found a Cotton On store that was on sale, and it was really on SALE! Me and Kin had so much fun. After that, we went to see the merlion and we went around Marina Bay.

Align Center

We were very fortunate because when we were at the merlion, there was a rehearsal for the Singapore's National Day Parade, or as ayah said, they were just celebrating us being there. So there was a few fighter jets, some choppers and two fireworks.

That was a really tiring day but Uncle Zoi made us happy once again because at the end of the day, he took us to a store called This Fashion. Daddy wasn't very happy though.

The next day, we went home. But before that, we went for a walk around Bedok.

Seriously, the library there is so awesome. If we live there, our budget for books would be cut down by half. So many books.

All in all, we really had fun. Thanks to Uncle Zoi and Aunty Ayu for your generous hospitality. We really appreciate it. Thanks to daddy for driving all of us down there and buying tickets to the Universal Studios.

Love,
Tyqa
