The Day When I Feel I Wont Have The Chance To See Beautiful Malay Films Anymore

I have always adored Yasmin Ahmad's superb talent. To me, she was amazing. She can make movies that may look simple but held thousands of moral values. i remembered i watched Rabun first as a TV3 drama i guess, and felt that it was a unique drama, different from other dramas at tv3. at that point, i didnt knew who the director was. Same goes for her superb, superb talent in making commercials. we as a family would ask each other, especially me and my sisters "hey have you watched petronas commercial for this upcoming raya?" just because we all look forward to seeing it every single raya. Oh God, i'll truly miss that. Yasmin Ahmad didnt care about all the hurtful critics people said to her,or her actors, she even stand proud of sharifah amani during amani's controversy at an award ceremony. When people criticised Sepet, i thought, what the heck is wrong with them? Sepet is such a wonderful movie and will always be a favourite. But my personal favourite so far has been Talentime. Am really looking forward for the DVD to come out eventhough ive watched the movie twice at the cinemas. Oh wait, but i also reallyyy love Mukhsin. So i cant say which one is my favourite. I am also very sad for the fact that she didnt have the chance to see Malaysia's response to her movie Muallaf. I am soo angry that the people who are responsible to screen the movies said that the movie is not suitable bla bla bla. Like, how narrow can your mind be? i am soo looking forward to watch Muallaf. If i didnt felt anything during MJ's recent death, because i felt that i never have been one of his fans, but for this amazing woman, i am touched. This means that now, i only have low quality film makers except Afdlin Shauki. I wont have the chance to watch wonderful movies with fresh talents anymore. Who knew that Shafie the kid from Mukhsin and Talentime can act really well? He was only a simple kampung boy when Yasmin found him and took him as the hero for Mukhsin. He was fab. :) So my dear readers, we have lost the most amazing, natural, wonderful and superb filmmaker. seeing her blog with her latest mumbling on 22nd July makes me sad. How sudden can death be, she was only having a meeting, like any days when she collapsed and fell into a coma. We'll always cherish your 'gifts' Yasmin, may you rest in peace.
